Just practicing the Bach Lute Suite in E minor, Gigue. It's not easy, and I wanted to make myself nervous while learning it, by doing a live stream of my practice session.

Happy to have had the chance to be a part of presenting this! A limited edition tambourine by Black Swamp Percussion, and performing an etude by, the one and only, JB Leclere.

I visited Spain Elementary-Middle School as a part of ‪2016 Classical Roots‬ community outreach. I demonstrated percussion improvisation and spoke about my own education and journey to becoming a part of the DSO as their fellow.

This was my very first xylophone rag. "Stop Time" at 12 years old. I really can't believe how long ago it was sometimes, but this was a blast to play.

Performing Tambourinov by Jb Leclere (BSP Artist). Tambourinov is a short tambourine etude influenced by the style and techniques of Tchaikovsky's Trepak. Performed with a model TC1 tambourine: Chromium 25 and Phosphor Bronze jingles with a calf head.

From my documentary, Detroit Percussionist Mastermind. This was just me jamming out for action shots, but they decided to use the spare footage for this short video.

Playing Delecluse #1 using five of Black Swamp's Unibody snare drums: Zebrawood, Ash, Maple, Cherry and Walnut.

DePaul University Percussion Ensemble in concert March, 2013. Michael Kozakis, director.

From my senior recital at DePaul School of Music. I had a condition, thoracic outlet syndrome, that made it hard for me to feel the mallets. I had to take pretty lengthy breaks in between pieces, and this was the very first piece on the program.

This is from the Percussion Scholarship Group's 20th anniversary performance. Riverdance is basically the group's theme song at this point, and we ended the concert performing it with past members of the group (the crowd of clappers on the right). I can't express how much this group has changed my life and the lives of many children because of the work they do. This is an example of how much of an impact more groups like this can have on future generations.

I was recording some pieces for a music festival and decided to play this right after I recorded some loud cymbals. I just wanted to play something that made me really happy (also fast) ^_^

This was my performance at Carnegie Hall on From the Top, when I was 16. At the time I was still super shy on stage, but luckily the music and editing was superb and made it look like I wasn't. Since then I had always wanted another crack at that type of interview again, and 8 years later I got my chance. I really loved this opportunity and I have everyone at From the Top to thank for making my dream a reality.

Shot entirely with GoPros, take a look at a day in the life of the DSO percussion section during TchaikFest!

On the week of my Carnegie Hall concert, Chicago Tonight had an emergency. A musical guest could not appear to be interviewed and they needed a replacement immediately. Not sure how they found me, but they called my cell phone and I almost ignored it. Next thing I knew, I was on Chicago Tonight.

The Matt Jones Orchestra collaborated with Australian internet sensation, Fatai, and recorded "I'll Be Home for Christmas." Matt Jones arranged the music, and I thought it was pretty impressive. Sure was fun to meet new people and to perform with some old friends during this session.

After the From the Top concert I received another call, but the number was from New York. Again, I almost let it ring, but I answered and was asked to fly to New York for an interview on the Today Show. So me and my dad went shopping for a new suit, rehearsed some lines, and went to New York again for the interview.
