Written for the Percussion Scholarship Program, with the help and guidance of Cliff Colnot, this percussion ensemble piece was the first major production I had ever done. It’s intended to be performed with electronic playback of the synthesizer and theremin parts (programmed rather than with the midi recording), as well as with an electric mallet instrument for the electric bass part. However, these parts can be done with as you like, either splitting the synth parts, or playing the bass part on a 5 octave marimba or on boobams for instance. It requires glockenspiel, 2 xylophones, 2 vibraphones, 5 marimbas, timbales, bongos, drumset, and an assortment of rhythmic percussion instruments. This is one of my favorite pieces that I’ve written and I hope you enjoy performing it!
